After many years of teaching and traveling for various nursing home companies, we decided to come "HOME" to Coburn Creek. We have two boys.
Cameron has been in the Service since Sept 2004, he and Rebecca make their home near Fort Campbell, KY. Evan and his wife, Christine, live in Wheeler.
"When God created the horse he said to the magnificent creature:
I have made thee as no other.
All the treasures of the earth lie between thy eyes.
Thou shalt carry my friends upon thy back.
Thy saddle shall be the seat of prayers to me.
And thou fly without wings, and conquer without any sword. Oh, horse."

~ Quote of unknown source (often incorrectly attributed to the Koran)

The next generation

We also have two border collies we cannot forget; "Zip" and her son "Bit".

The Lord blessed our family when the opportunity came for both boys and their families to move home. After 60+ years of tending to cattle, we have become a semi-silent partner in the livestock operation. We consider ourselves "retired" and spend about half our time on the place, the other half is spent seeing nature's wonders away from Coburn Creek. After spending ten years working for the State of Texas, we decided it was time to come "HOME" and we also needed a change of pace. We have two daughters, Whitney and Megan. We chose to live in town instead of on the place so the girls could more easily participate in sports and other extracurricular activities; however, they both have such passion for horses that we spend most of our free time on Coburn Creek.
